First Semester

Over the past two terms I have done some some basic projects but spent most of my time working on a project called Court Vision. During term one I finished a couple of projects. I worked with a group to make a product design. We were asked to select a card. The card that we chose was about a family that needed a house. So a couple of friends and I started thinking. Based on the pictures this family does not like civilization. We designed a house using a computer program. We wanted the house to have the following things weapons room, heating safe, room kitchen multiple rooms, basic applicencessases for a house.

Another project that we worked on was called the smartPhone

projector.We put the smartphone in the box then had a video playing we made it so that the lens was able to show the entire screen. This was very challenging to find a lense that was able to show the whole screen. We found a lense that would fit but we would have to make a bigger hole in the box. We were not able to find a tool that could make a hole big enough so we decided to use a drill and then just pop it out. When we were drilling the hole we tried to pop it out and could not do it. We knew that if we pushed it hard it would break the frame. Ms Kerr tried and then ended up breaking the box. We could easily have fixed it by uses hot glue.

After putting the magnifying glass we attempted to make the phone screen show. We were running out of time and were not able to complete the project. Every time the screen was showing it would show upside down.

Another project that I did was an Inquiry Block about dance. My question was Why do People dance? I did the history of it, what triggers us to want to dance and the different types of dances. Other than those projects I worked a lot on Court Vision. We are working with radio frequency. It has taken a lot of research to figure out how to use it. We are still working on getting the two radio frequency chips to connect to each other. So far we have not been able to get the two chips to talk to each other but we will. During this next term we are going to work on getting a prototype working so that we have it to present at the demonstration of learning.
